Environment Minister George Papaconstantinou on Thursday appeared positively inclined toward a possible abolition of a ban on cars running on diesel currently in effect in Athens and Thessaloniki.
Speaking before the parliament’s Special Permanent Committee on Environmental Protection, Papaconstantinou clarified that the issue is still under consideration and that no decision has been made yet as the abolition of the ban should be combined with certain necessary measures to ensure that air pollution levels will be kept as low as possible.
