The decisions of the July 21 eurozone summit, and only those, determine the policy framework in which the Greek government is acting, prime minister George Papandreou said during a Cabinet meeting on Thursday regarding the various speculations concerning the Greek economy, according to reliable sources.
The same sources said that Papandreou told the Cabinet that "we must been consistent with that framework", and praised the "bold" stance of his PASOK MPs during Tuesday's vote in parliament on the regulation introducing an extraordinary surtax on real estate, which was passed with the votes of the entire 154-member PASOK parliamentary group and of an Independent MP.

"If only other political forces manifested the same responsibility," Papandreou said, adding that "we are all responsible towards society and for proceeding with our plan", the sources added.
