Main opposition New Democracy (ND) party spokesman Yiannis Mihelakis on Thursday again lashed out at the government, charging that it resembles an “army of irregulars in a state of panic”.
Mihelakis said the government has been “inert for months, makes decisions in a state of panic, cannot implement decisions, changes its decisions at the last minute and then announces new ones.”
He used as an example the extraordinary surtax on real estate property, the receipt collection measure and the labour reserve in the public sector.
The ND spokesman accused Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos of inconsistency and of being responsible for the "fiascos", as he charged, with Finland and the EC-ECB-IMF "troika".
Mihelakis concluded by saying that “this government is not a government.”
