Five people, 2 Albanians, a Bangladeshi and 2 local men, were arrested in the greater Athens region having in their possession a total of 45 kilos and 425 grams of unprocessed cannabis, it was announced on Friday.
The arrests were made during police raids and the suspects are believed to be members of an international drug trafficking ring.
In a separate police operation in Piraeus’ district of Perama, two people were arrested, a man, 46, and a woman, 24, accused of cocaine trafficking. Police confiscated 256 grams of cocaine, 18 grams of heroin, 1,215 pills of undetermined chemical composition, a pistol, an air gun, and fake police rubber stamps, among others.
