All Greek courts will be shut on Wednesday due to a strike by court employees, who are participating in a 24-hour strike called by the country's largest umbrella trade union organisations, the General Confederation of Employees of Greece (GSEE) representing the private sector and the civil servants' union federation ADEDY.

Their court employees' union in an announcement on Tuesday stressed its opposition to the new ranks, wage scale and timetable for the public sector, the labour reserve measure and impoverishment of society. There will be a skeleton staff in courts, as in all court employee strikes.
