Contacts by EC-ECB-IMF "troika" representatives had with the Greek judiciary are not constitutionally legitimate, according to a statement issued by the country’s Bar Associations’ coordinating committee, which held an extraordinary meeting in Athens on Tuesday. Greek lawyers underlined that they oppose the attempted "legalisation" of the troika and did not rule out the likelihood in the future to invoke Article 120 of the Constitution, according to which “usurpation, in any way whatsoever, of popular sovereignty and of powers deriving there from shall be prosecuted upon restoration of the lawful authority; the limitation, from which punishment for the crime is barred, shall begin as of the restoration of lawful authority.”
