By decision of prime minister Lucas Papademos, journalist Pantelis Kapsis, former chief editor of "Ta Nea" and "To Vima" newspapers, was assigned as minister of state and government spokesman.
Kapsis is expected to assume his duties immediately, as the position of government spokesman had remained vacant since the formation of the new government.
The inauguration of the journalist as a minister of state before the president of the republic is scheduled for Friday, December 2.
By another decision of the prime minister, Gikas Hardouvelis takes charge of the financial office of the prime minister. Hardouvelis is Professor of Banking and Financial Management at the University of Piraeus.
Likewise, George Pagoulatos takes charge of the office of Strategic Planning. Pagoulatos is Professor of European Politics and Economics at the Department of International and European Economic Studies in the University of Athens.
