Greek Police's disciplinary department on Wednesday ordered the dismissal of officers Epaminondas Korkoneas and Vassilis Saraliotis from the force.

Greek Police's disciplinary department on Wednesday ordered the dismissal of officers Epaminondas Korkoneas and Vassilis Saraliotis from the force.

The two police officers were convicted for the murder of Alexis Grigoropoulos in the central Athens neighborhood of Exharchia in December 2008.

Korkoneas, who shot Grigoropoulos, is serving a life sentence after being found guilty of murder with malice afterthought.

Saraliotis, a special guard, was found guilty of being an accomplce to the murder and was released in October 2011.
