The head of the regional association of municipalities, Simos Daniilidis, said he expects more mayors to resign soon. Daniilidis, also the mayor of Neapoli-Sykies, accused the government of adopting “unconstitutional and anti-European” measures that would undermine local authorities.
In their letter, the mayors said they would quit unless the government hears their call.
