Fire on Mount Mainalo causes major damage to ski resort's cafeteria

A fire that broke out on Saturday at a chalet housing a cafeteria in Arcadia’s Mount Mainalo ski resort in the Peloponnese caused extensive damage to the premises before being brought under control by Tripoli firefighters.

The cafeteria was closed at the time and no injuries were reported.

The chalet is owned by the Tripoli branch of the Greek Mountaineering Club.

Local police were investigating the cause of the blaze.
