Police arrested a 44-year-old man suspected of setting up the plant in the basement of his home. During the raid, officials confiscated three steel vats and a plastic tank filled with unspecified alcoholic-related substances as well as dozens of bottles, corks and labels.
The tax bill that the suspect would have run up if he had been producing and selling the alcohol legally is estimated to exceed 150,000 euros.
