Illegal casino discovered in Maroussi

The Financial Police arrested 28 people in an organised illegal casino in Kifisias avenue in the Athens suburb of Maroussi at noon on Friday.
The illegal casino was operating supposedly as a cultural society of friends for the promotion of the internet under the name of “ERMIS NET” and access to it was only allowed for registered members with the use of a special magnetic member card. For a person to become a member, as it was revealed, he had to be proposed and be guaranteed by at least one member.
The premises was a real fortress since one had to pass through a secured shielded door to enter while his identity was given close scrutiny.
