Interior minister meets with Athens, Thessaloniki mayors

Interior Minister Yiannis Ragoussis on Wednesday held separate meetings with the new mayors of Athens and Thessaloniki, a few days after the launch of Kallikratis local government merger plan.

Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis briefed Ragoussis on the city’s pressing economic problems as well as on the issue of the municipality’s contract workers, pending a relevant court decision.

The meeting with Thessaloniki Mayor Yiannis Boutaris also focused on local issues.

Later in the afternoon, Ragoussis will meet with the seven new general secretaries of decentralised local administration.
