Man arrested in Rhodes for involvement in young Swedish woman’s rape

An 18-year-old man of Albanian origin was arrested at noon on Sunday as being involved in the case of the rape of a young Swedish woman, while three other persons are also being sought.
The woman reported the event to police on the island of Rhodes on Sunday morning, according to which in the early hours of Sunday four unidentified persons led her to the Sachtouri beach in Rhodes, three of whome immobilised her and the fourth raped her.

Police investigations led to the detection of a man of Albanian origin at noon on the same day, who was recognised by the Swedish woman as being one of the persons who had immobilised her.

The young man was brought before an investigator in Rhodes and requested and received a time limit until Wednesday to make his testimony regarding what has been attributed to him.
