At the same time, however, a document from the Munich prosecutor’s office was delivered to the fact-finding committee, conveying a ruling by a lower appeals court to reject a European arrest warrant issued by the Athens appeals court for Volker Jung, a former Siemens Hellas executive. The latter fled Greece while on bail and while under investigation for his role in the Siemens scandal.
The Munich appeals court, with its ruling of Nov. 24, 2010, declared the extradition unacceptable because, as it claimed, the actions for which the defendant is charged have been written off, according to German law.
