New poll points to narrow lead for New Democracy

New Democracy posted a very narrow lead over opposition SYRIZA in a Metron Analysis opinion poll published in Ependytis newspaper on Saturday.

Asked who they would vote for, 29.1 percent of respondents backed the conservatives and 28.7 said SYRIZA.

Half of those questioned said they are against dismissals in the public sector and 47 percent said they are in favor.

However, only 32 percent said they supported the government’s plans to scrap the municipal police, whereas 62 percent said they wanted to see the service remain.
