PM honors top civil servant

Prime Minister Antonis Samaras Tuesday honored civil servant Eleni Martsoukou for going above and beyond the call of duty in her job. Martsoukou, an employee in the government’s Office for International and European Community Affairs, helped reduce the proportion of Greek laws that are not compatible with EU legislation from 2.4 percent to 0.5 percent.

In the process, she saved Greece from being fined between 26 and 550 million euros.
