Health Minister Andreas Lykourentzos on Friday pledged that EOPYY, the National Organization for Healthcare Provision, will soon begin reimbursing consumers who were denied credit by pharmacists and were forced to pay out of their own pockets.
Pharmacists have said they will continue their refusal to offer medicines on credit next week.
Speaking to Antenna TV, Lykourentsos also criticized the pharmacists’ decision to extent their boycott.
“Putting forward demands – and, what’s more, in such a tough and inflexible manner – can only damage the sector you represent and, most importantly, the people,” he said.
Doctors working with EOPYY have said that as of Monday, they will also stop providing free medical services to those insured with the fund.
