School teachers, students to hold protest rally on March 2

School teachers and students will be holding a protest rally on Panepistimiou Street in central Athens on Saturday, March 2, at noon, before marching to Parliament, where a concert by students of Attica’s music schools will take place.

The union of secondary school teachers, OLME, said on Wednesday morning that the rally is being planned to protest budget cuts in education, which, it says, have led to significant staff shortages in many schools and problems in their operation, such as the inability to buy heating oil.
